Times are a changing?

Well, after a very Happy Easter, followed by an unexpected cold snap, the sun has decided to come out just in time for the first stage of easing the lockdown.

Hip hooray I hear you say BUT “steady-as-shegoes” which is the cry to a helmsman to keep on the current course. Seems appropriate after the sad loss of such a wonderful Prince, who would say ‘Just get on with it!’

So, we are still working on building a new team of qualified and experienced live-in and daily carers, who would like to have a bit more time for themselves, friends and families being self-employed.

Example of the benefits of being self-employed

If you are self-employed, you will have various business running costs (allowable expenses). Your allowable expenses are deducted from your receipts to work out your taxable income (profit). You only pay tax on your taxable profit after deducting your personal tax allowance.

Receipts £40,000
Allowable expenses £10,000
Taxable profit £30,000
*Personal tax allowance £12,570
Taxable Income £17,430

Self-employed carer wages

Live-in Carers: £680 – £740 per week

Night Carers: £100 – £140 per night

+ 45 pence per mile travel allowance.
