Spring… a time for reflection and renewal
Something strange is happening. I am not sure if it is by coincidence or whether just an unconscious change in the way we are all thinking about our futures.
After a 3 week break to re-charge and re-evaluate my purpose and direction in life, I realised that I virtually locked myself away for 2 years. I buried myself in my work, trying desperately to protect my clients and their wonderful carers. There was no time for anything else and no time for me. I became exhausted, grumpy and often angry.
I completely understand how Home Carers have been feeling. All that dedication, stress and exhaustion and ultimately sadness at the tragic loss of life over the last two years. No wonder these amazing people are rethinking their lives and wanting to give up what they passionately believe in, caring for others. Who wouldn’t?
Fresh Start for us all!
After some rest, socialisation, and time with family and old friends, I released that restructuring was well overdue, rather than giving up. The number of elderly and vulnerable adults continues to increase at a dramatic pace. Only the other day, it was reported that 1 in 6 people born today are likely to live till they are over 100!
We cannot be beaten. We are needed and are a valuable part of society. Without these carers so many more will suffer. I must admit, there have been times when I wondered whether my time had come to step back but I am not giving up on those who desperately need our help.
We have many opportunities for carers who have excellent skills, to join are team, so please contact us. Hours are always flexible so you can balance your personal life around your work life.
